With 220-unit project, Hingham’s affordable-housing goal is in sight

After almost a year of reviews, hearings and revisions, one of the town’s biggest recent residential development proposals will get a vote within the next few weeks – and if it’s approved, town officials say Hingham will reach its affordable-housing goal. If built, the two-building, 220-unit Broadstone Bare Cove Alliance rental project on Beal Street would include 55 affordable units, and Town Administrator Ted Alexiades said that will put Hingham over the state-mandated 10 percent threshold.
