Tri Pointe Homes to Acquire 59 Single-Family Homesites, Break Ground at Flora in Fast-Growing Austin Metro

Phase one of construction now underway in northeast Hutto  

AUSTIN, TEXAS (July 16, 2024)Tri Pointe Homes® (NYSE:TPH), one of the largest homebuilders in the U.S., has announced the acquisition and imminent groundbreaking of 59 single family homesites in Hutto, Texas. Tri Pointe’s home offerings will be part of phase one at Flora, an 825-acre planned community developed by Empire Continental Land, the Texas land division of Empire Communities.

Tri Pointe’s new homes at Flora are expected to range from approximately 1,600 to 2,390 square feet from its Terrace Collection on 40’ homesites. The homes include 3 to 4 bedrooms, 2 to 3.5 bathrooms, with 2-bay garages. With flexible floorplans anticipated to feature lofts, game rooms, and options for primary suites on either the first or second floor, the homes are expected to attract a wide range of customers from first-time homebuyers to empty-nesters. Construction on one model home is slated to begin within the next two months, with sales anticipated to start in fourth quarter 2024 and a grand opening planned for first quarter 2025.

All Tri Pointe homes in Flora will feature the LivingSmart® program, ensuring energy-efficient and environmentally responsible living. Standard features are expected to include double-pane Low-E2 glass windows, GE ENERGY STAR® appliances, programmable smart thermostats, and WaterSense® fixtures by Delta®. These components are designed to enhance comfort, reduce utility costs, and support sustainable living.

The wide array of amenities planned for Flora will help foster community engagement and outdoor enjoyment for residents. Among the proposed amenities is the Market Square, which will host farmers’ markets, food trucks and special events with a communal fire pit and plenty of space to relax. At Bloom House, Flora’s central hub, residents will be able to enjoy the game room, coffee bar, state-of-the-art fitness center, quiet co-working spaces, and host events at one of the indoor or outdoor gathering spots. The community is also anticipated to include Primrose Park & Splash Pad, a kid’s zone with swings, slides, climbing structures, and fountains. Residents will also be able stay active outside with a number of planned parks, open spaces, and miles of winding trails.

Designed to feel like a private retreat, Flora is strategically located off Highway 79 and Chandler Road. Residents will have quick access to Round Rock, Georgetown, and downtown Austin. The community will be located just 3 miles from Hutto’s downtown area and conveniently located near major transportation routes, making it an ideal location for those working in the city while enjoying the tranquility of suburban life. The area has seen a boom in tech-driven industries thanks to companies such as Samsung and Tesla, providing potentially prosperous career opportunities for residents. All Hutto ISD schools are located within five miles of Flora, and the surrounding community is home to nearby parks, restaurants, and fitness centers. Less than 10 minutes away, residents will also have convenient access to Austin Regional Clinic and a Baylor Scott & White Clinic.
