Taylor Morrison, led by CEO Sheryl Palmer, is a prominent national homebuilder based in Scottsdale, Arizona. Specializing in new home construction for a diverse range of buyers including first-time, move-up, luxury, and resort lifestyle segments, Taylor Morrison operates across 19 markets in 11 states. The company encompasses several brands: Taylor Morrison, Esplanade, Darling Homes Collection by Taylor Morrison, and Yardly.

In 2023, Taylor Morrison concluded the year robustly, releasing its earnings report for the fourth quarter and full year in February 2024. The company achieved notable success, delivering 11,495 homes and generating $7.2 billion in homebuilding revenue, achieving a healthy adjusted gross margin of 24.0% on home closings.

Throughout the year, Taylor Morrison faced challenges typical in the industry, such as rising interest rates and economic uncertainties. However, the company demonstrated resilience and adaptability to evolving market conditions.

CEO Sheryl Palmer remarked, “While we faced significant headwinds from rising interest rates, economic uncertainty and global unrest, our business displayed the resiliency we have strategically positioned it for following years of intentional growth, transformative M&A integrations, and tireless commitment to streamlining and optimizing our operational abilities.”

Looking ahead, Taylor Morrison anticipates closing at least 12,000 homes in the current year, as outlined in their latest report.

In late 2023, Taylor Morrison also released its 2024 design trends report, highlighting emerging styles such as dopamine, dark academia, quiet luxury, coastal grandma, and southwestern aesthetics. Trends like biophilic design and integrated living spaces are gaining popularity, reflecting a growing preference for bringing the outdoors indoors.

The company is committed to inclusivity, tailoring its design offerings and online customer experience to diverse cultural demographics. This commitment is evident in considerations such as offsetting front and back doors and avoiding centrally placed stairs in home layouts. Brian Juedes, Vice President of Product Design, emphasized, “We’re adapting our floorplans to be conscientious of our buyers’ cultural design preferences so we can more effectively serve their needs.”
