Pioneering Sustainable Development and Community Impact Since 1956

Since its establishment in 1956, Brookfield Residential has made a name for itself as one of the leading land developers and homebuilders in the United States. The firm has a footprint that spans across Arizona, California, Colorado, Delaware, Maryland, North Carolina, South Carolina, Texas and Virginia. It also has a presence in Canada, where the company was originally founded. Brookfield prides itself on three values: passion, integrity and community.

With a robust portfolio spanning residential developments across various regions, Brookefield Residential stands out for its meticulous attention to detail in urban planning and architectural design. Each project reflects a deep understanding of local cultures and environmental dynamics, ensuring a harmonious integration with the surrounding landscape.

Energy efficiency is also a main focus for Brookfield. One of its more notable green projects is Midtown located in Denver. Brookfield’s objective was to offer this Passive House as an energy efficient upgrade option to their existing base plans that were offered at this community. The home achieved Passive House Institute U.S. certification and received a National Association of Home Builders Gold Award in the Green Built Home Category in 2014.

Over its existence, the real estate company has made some major moves to improve and grow its portfolio. One of Brookfield’s most recent transactions came in June 2021, when Brookfield announced that it was joining forces with masterplanned community land developer Newland.

“Adding Newland’s scale to our already robust mix as a fully integrated land developer is another major step toward our long-term real estate development growth goals,” said Adrian Foley, Brookfield Properties development group’s chief executive officer and president. “As the public homebuilding market is searching for controlled lot supply, and looking to the lot manufacturing business to provide that service to support their expanding businesses, we see an innovative lot sales process for the land assets and an operational skillset being rewarded for the product it produces.”

Brookfield has also had its hand in philanthropy, where it gives back its time and resources to communities around the country. In collaboration with HomeAid Orange County, an organization that helps people experiencing homelessness through construction, Brookfield was the builder captain for a two-story complex in Tustin, California called House of Ruth.

As Brookfield Residential continues to grow, the company continues to innovate itself through its core ideals and growing portfolio.
