Set on the Manatee River of Bradenton, Florida, The Catalina model of the Reserve at the Inlets is one of the nicest homes in the area. Priced around $2.6 million, the 4,000 square foot, well air-conditioned home won the “Best Overall” award at the 2013 Parade for Homes Awards Ceremony. The home and its community was such a hit, that it won all of the 5 judged criteria to win the award of “Best Overall.” The five categories included: Best Architectural Detail, Best Floor Plan, Best Master Suite, Best Kitchen and Best Curb Appeal. After completion of the home in February of 2013, the home was entered into the contest along with a number of quality homes from the Sarasota and Manatee counties.
The Catalina model is one of the most luxurious models in the Inlets neighborhood. Set with multiple bedrooms and an excellent backyard for outdoor living, this home has everything and views to take your breath away. By being gracious and having a luxury resort ambiance, the home is the most coveted and outstanding with features as good as its deep water dockage. No need for your own harbor when you have your own dock right out back.
“Medallion Home created the Signature Series to fill an underserved niche in the marketplace, custom and semi-custom home building for individuals that own their own properties. With the inception of the Signature Series, the Catalina floor plan was created. The Catalina is perfectly situated overlooking the mile-wide Manatee River just a leisurelyboat trip from the Gulf of Mexico on Florida’s beautiful west coast. Complete with elevator, parlor, wine room, storage dumbwaiter, etc, the fully furnished Medallion Home model is appointed for the most discerning of home owners,” explained Peter Logan, President of Medallion Home.
Comprised of three distinctive neighborhoods; The Bella Solé Courtyard Collection, Harbour Walk and The Reserve of the Inlets offers unsurpassed convenience to the avid boater, not to mention breathtakingly beautiful views. Amid schools of jumping fish and stately herons, any home owner or guest can dock up to a 70′ boat in the homeowner’s own backyard or launch a canoe or kayak.
Any one of the lucky homeowners can stroll through lavish tropical landscaping or hike on a primitive nature trail, all in an exclusive, gated and secure environment. There are even tennis courts available and many golf courses to choose from in the area of Manatee County.
“The collaboration for this home was a much easier process as we have a group of in-house architects and draftsmen which allows the unique flexibility of the constant change in needs, wants, desires and the overall metamorphosis in the final set of the plans. Additionally, we are our own Contractor,” stated Gregg Glasser, Marketing and Sales Director of Medallion Home.
The Catalina model took into account the attention to detail that is most desired by the community demographic. The floor plan was designed and created to take advantage of the home site by providing expansive vistas of the Manatee River which include an oversized lanai and second story balcony.
Additionally, the interior layout demonstrates the entertainment qualities of a wine cellar, upstairs bar and pool/game room, and a large kitchen. On top of all that, the home has the conveniences of relaxation with an elevator as well as a lounge next to the fireplace.
“The challenge The Catalina model encountered was the ability to have the home completed in its entirety before the Parade of Homes. The typical build time for a custom home is 6-8 months, but we were able to complete The Catalina in a total 90 days for perfect timing for the Parade of Homes where the home won all of the 5 judged criteria to win Best Overall within its category,” stated Glasser.
“We are fortunate to be on the uptick. Last year, we grew by more than 400 building permits in Manatee County, from about 1,900 to 2,400 permits. That is our biggest jump in recent years. The whole premise of the Parade of Homes is to drive traffic through the models. It is a way for builders to pool their marketing dollars by having entries,” explained Alan Anderson, Executive Director of the Sarasote HBA.
When building a luxury home like the Catalina Model, inspiration should not be hard to find. The in-house designers and architects looked to the community and saw a great landscape for as far as anyone could see. The inspiration from the environment surrounding the homes was all they needed. Adjacent to the Manatee River, every home site in the community will have a boat dock that has either salt water or freshwater access to the river. The community utilizes the river by allowing every homeowner to have a waterfront home. Who would not want to live there?
With two large garages, large bedrooms, a wine cellar, an elevator, multiple living rooms, game rooms, comfortable yet equipped bathrooms, a giant kitchen and a pool/spa that allows homeowners and their guests to enjoy some of the best views Florida has to offer, anyone would want to live in the Catalina model or any of the other models of the Inlets.
