In seven short years of operation, TRI Pointe Homes, a member of TRI Pointe Group, has navigated their way to heights unimaginable for such a young company. Their motto of “Think. Renew. Inspire.” has been the guiding force behind all decisions from the company’s inception in the midst of the recession. In an industry that boasts fourth- and fifth-generation builders, the success that’s been enjoyed by the team at TRI Pointe shows just how perfect the moment was for a company with a new approach to the business.

TRI Pointe Homes was founded by industry veterans Doug Bauer, Tom Mitchell, and Mike Grubbs in 2009 and has continued to impress with numerous accolades and recognitions. Now they have yet another feather to add to their cap: readers have voted them Builder and Developer’s 2016 Builder of the Year.

TRI Pointe Homes went public in 2013, making them the first homebuilder to do so since 2004. This was followed in 2014 by TRI Pointe Homes’ completed acquisition of one of the biggest deals in homebuilding history (the purchase of Weyerhaeuser’s homebuilding subsidiary), making TRI Pointe a top 10 public homebuilder by equity market capitalization. Since then, the company (that rebranded to TRI Pointe Group in 2015) has gone steadily forward by vertically integrating TRI Pointe Homes and the their five other homebuilding brands across eight states in key regional markets nationwide, and launching TRI Pointe Solutions that includes TRI Pointe Connect mortgage financing operations and TRI Pointe Assurance title service operations.“Homebuilding is inherently a local business and each of our builder brands’ leadership teams have distinct advantages that are critical to success in their local markets.
