The Andalucia Apartments, the first workforce housing property built in the City of Santa Ana’s Harbor Mixed-Use Corridor Plan, is a trailblazing multifamily project that underscores the importance that residential development plays in the creation of urban corridors such as the Harbor Plan. Andalucia was recently selected as Orange County’s Affordable and Workforce Housing 2017 Development of the Year at the annual Affordable Housing Awards events.

A public/private development between the City of Santa Ana, C&C Development, and Orange Housing Development Corporation, the recently completed, 70-unit Andalucia Apartments offers affordable rents ranging from 50 percent to 110 percent of area median income (AMI), and the three-bedroom apartments are designed for the needs of larger, growing families.

Exemplary Design and Construction

With their Spanish-inspired architecture, the Andalucia buildings are designed to complement and enrich the area’s neighborhood aesthetic and architectural character. C&C Development and Orange Housing Development worked closely with the City of Santa Ana planning and housing departments to ensure that the city’s vision for the Harbor Plan was fully realized by Andalucia’s exemplary design and construction, location, quality, and affordability.

As a guiding document for the city’s future growth, the Harbor Plan lays the foundation for a more livable and sustainable corridor. The Harbor Plan could lead to the addition of new retail stores, restaurants, office buildings, hotels, museums, and housing options in a more walkable, safe, and attractive environment.
