About two years ago, an exciting and exhilatating connection took place. Taylor Morrison purchased Darling Homes, a Texas-based homebuilder, and together, they soared. Darling Homes, founded by brothers Bill, Steve and Bob Darling, has been building high quality family homes in the Dallas- Fort Worth Metroplex and Greater Houston areas for more than 25 years. Darling Homes has received numerous industry awards.

It’s great to see that the Darling brand will continue in this way.” According to Sheryl Palmer, CEO and President of Taylor Morrison their company has always been impressed with the Darling brand and the team’s passion and commitment. “It’s wonderful to think that we can now help to develop this complementary brand as part of Taylor Morrison,” she said.
One project that Builder and Developer found necessary to showcase was the Bridges at Las Colinas. Darling Homes is bringing its highly acclaimed homes to one of Dallas’ most respected areas with the s July debut at the Bridges at Las Colinas. Located in the heart of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, the Bridges at Las Colinas is a new master-planned community that offers convenient access to plenty of shopping, entertainment and dining destinations. In addition, the Bridges at Las Colinas is located within the highly-acclaimed Coppell ISD.
Priced from the low $500,000s, Darling Homes is offering floor plans that range from approximately 2,500 to more than 4,300 square feet at the Bridges at Las Colinas. The homes offer up to five bedrooms and 5.5 baths in single and two-story designs. Luxurious master suites, gourmet kitchens, spacious family rooms with fireplaces, and second floor game rooms are just a few of the features in the Irving community. In addition, Darling Homes is the only builder offering three-car garages on all of its floor plans, due to larger lot sizes for the Darling Homes neighborhood.
“This is a special community that really comes to life the minute you arrive,” said Shawn Cate, vice president of sales and marketing for Darling Homes’ Dallas division. There are plenty of amenities at the Bridges at Las Colinas, including access to lakes, hiking trails, biking trails and even a planned splash pad. Bridges at Las Colinas is also conveniently located near Dallas’ premier shopping, dining, nightlife destinations and Dallas-Forth Worth International Airport. The purchase of Darling Homes was just one of many projects Taylor Morrison would tackle. In a recent media announcement, the company announced they will build single-family homes in one of northeast Houston’s newest masterplanned communities, The Groves. “The new community, expected to debut in early 2015, will feature the Houston s Grande Series on 70-foot-wide lots,” said Jim Ellison, vice president of sales and marketing for the company’s Houston division.
“It’s a heavily wooded area that Houston homebuyers will appreciate for its rural feel and flavor,” Ellison said. “When finished, the community will include neighborhood parks and a trail system centered around Woodland Creek. It’s the ideal environment for a Taylor Morrison home.” Indeed, a premium is being placed on keeping the community part of the surrounding landscape, with wooded areas throughout the community, plenty of open space and amenities that will include a proposed visitor center with an outdoor plaza, great lawn, natural play area and more. The 993-acre master-planned community is located in northeast Houston, north of the Sam Houston Parkway and just south of Kingwood. The new community will offer convenient access to both Lake Houston to the east and George Bush Intercontinental Airport to the west.
