Home Sales Begin in Jubilee, a New Johnson Development Community in Hockley, Texas

(Houston, Texas) — Home sales have begun in Jubilee, a new Johnson Development community centered on holistic wellness.

Located in Hockley just south of Highway 290 and a few miles from the Grand Parkway, the 1,622-acre Jubilee has selected eight builders for its first phase. Coventry Homes, David Weekley Homes and Highland Homes have started home sales. Coventry offers homes priced from the $350,000s and ranging from 1,500 to 2,600 square feet that are designed for 40-foot properties. Highland also builds on 40-foot properties, with homes from the $350,000s ranging from 1,500 to 2,600 square feet. David Weekley is offering homes from the $300,000s. The designs, which range from 1,600 to 2,800 square feet, are designed for 45-foot homesites. Perry Homes offers homes priced from the $510,000s and ranging from 2,200 to 3,700 square feet that are designed for 60-foot properties.

Chesmar Homes and Westin Homes all expect to start sales soon.  Chesmar will offer homes ranging from 1,800 to 3,100 square feet designed for 50-foot homesites. Westin will build on 60-foot properties with floor plans ranging from 2,200 to 3,700 square feet.

Newmark Homes plans to begin selling homes designed for 45-foot homesites and ranging from 1,600 to 2,800 square feet this spring. Tri Pointe Homes also will build in Jubilee, offering homes ranging from 1,800 to 3,100 square feet on 50-foot lots.

“It’s exciting to see our vision come to life,” said June Tang, Vice President and General Manager of Jubilee. “Soon we will have our first residents moving in and experiencing the unique wellness-focused lifestyle planned for Jubilee.”

Wellness has been a consideration of every facet of development, Tang said, from street design, amenities and lifestyle programming. Wellness Zones throughout the community will provide places for connection, exploration, reflection and inspiration. Planned resident events will include “No-Tech Tuesdays,” restorative nature yoga, ECO Happy Hours and community potlucks.

Even the standard features builders will offer in their homes reflect the wellness focus. Among the standard features — which are often upgrades in other communities — are a fresh-air intake and a MERV 13-rated whole-home, four-inch media filter for improved air quality and a reverse-osmosis filtration system in the kitchen.

The standard lighting package for Jubilee includes all light switches and light bulbs in three rooms — presumably the primary bedroom, kitchen and family room — to be circadian rhythm lighting. This specialized lighting is designed improve a person’s circadian rhythm and lead to better sleep and improved long-term health. Each home will also have a platform automation panel that will control lighting brightness, color temperature, dim level settings and outdoor lighting emergency flash status.

Builders in Jubilee are also including several comfort features as standard in their homes. These incorporate a home automation panel, smart thermostats, a smart front door lock, a video doorbell, window prewiring for blackout shades in at least one room and security prewiring for one security panel, all doors and all operable first-floor windows.

“These enhanced standard features are part of what has allowed us to become an early adopter of the WELL for residential program by the International WELL Building Institute,” Tang said.

The new WELL for residential program is a third-party verification system that will certify Jubilee homes as achieving advanced wellness.

Planned amenities at Jubilee include a large pool and rec center, 30 acres of parks, 270 acres of green space and waterways, robust walking trails, community gardens, a dog park, sport courts and more.

Jubilee’s first phase includes 491 homes. At build-out, Jubilee will have approximately 4,300 homes.
