Gahanna City Council is expected to continue mulling over a proposed preannexation agreement with M/I Homes of Central Ohio for the future development of 63 acres off Darling Road. Council members will meet in committee at 7 p.m. Monday, July 11. M/I is seeking to rezone the land from restricted suburban to residential and to have the land annexed from Jefferson Township to Gahanna. Restricted-suburban zoning allows for one unit per 5 acres. The Franklin County Planning Commission rejected a rezoning proposal from M/I in October 2015, but that proposal didn’t include an annexation component. Gahanna development director Anthony Jones said city leaders have observed greater interest in residential development in the past six months.
