A proposed housing development next door to Kooser Elementary School in northwest Lincoln got the green light Wednesday from the Lincoln-Lancaster County Planning Commission. Commissioners voted unanimously to rezone and annex about 35.5 acres near Seventh Street and Alvo Road. A developer is proposing 145 single-family homes on the site, which is directly west of Kooser. Mark Hunzeker, a Lincoln attorney representing developer Legacy Homes, said the first homes and roads would likely be built within two years but it could be as long as 10 before the entire development is built out.
