Producer Prices Rise in May: New Construction Analysis

Prices for inputs to new residential construction rose by 0.2% in May, following a slight decline in April, according to the latest Producer Price Index (PPI) report. Over the past year, these input costs have increased by 1.9%, with goods up 1.6% and services up 2.3%. While construction input prices rose moderately, overall economic demand saw a slightly higher increase of 2.6% year-over-year.
