Each home is designed with a kitchen breakfast bar as well as a spacious dining area for both families and the on-the-go residents.

Although Summerly Development is not complete, Ryland currently has 27 units in productions and 29 units completed. “We encouraged Bassenian-Lagoni to create small, affordable homes which still had attractive design elements including vaulted ceilings and indoor-outdoor living,” said Carola Cherief, VP of Sales and Marketing for Ryland Homes.

With an estimated completion date of around late 2015, Ryland is contantly working to make this community and safe one, improving the quality of life for its residents.

“The City of Lake Elsinore has some challenging design standards that were amplified by the home sizes and price point,” said Richard Douglass, Division President of Ryland Homes.

“We basically incorporated several custom elements to the roof designs to open up the floor plans. It really wasn’t overly costly, yet resulted in a dramatically greater feel to the spaces.”

Both Cherief and Douglass wanted to highlight s Houseworks® program, something that is extremely valuable to both the company and its customers. The program ensures that s new homes are built to meet the leading industry standards in energy efficiency. Consistently Ryland is evaluating sustainable products to create a better home for our buyers. Over the last couple of years, their operations team has partnered up with a third party environmental engineer to help Ryland exceed Title 24 requirements. “We are proud to offer homes at Sunrise Springs that exceed 15%-20% above Title 24 code requirements,” Cherief said.

“Sunrise Springs at Summerly is a very diverse community and represents the most affordable community there.”– Richard Douglass, Division President

Most new Ryland homes score between 85 and 60 – making them more energy efficient than an existing/resale home and other typical new homeson the market – even those that meet energyefficiency standards. s effort to measure their homes using the RESNET HERS Index helps demonstrate how their HouseWorks® program and their partnerships with leaders in energy efficiency ensure that buyers homes not only fit seamlessly into owners’ lives, but also into the particular homes’ surrounding environment.

“With the help of our third party environmental engineers, we have designed and developed a more environmentally friendly community. A few of the more noticeable changes we have made relate to our HVAC systems,” she explained. “By designing a zoned-damper system our homeowners have the ability to control multiple zones in their house while only having one ac unit and furnace which reduces the amount of energy used to run the system. A relatively common, yet effective step we also take is to perform a duct blaster test on all of our homes to insure there are no leaks throughout the homes duct work which will insure our HVAC system works properly at full capacity and provides for safe and comfortable in-home air quality.”

In addition, Cherief explained that Ryland recently implemented tankless water heaters as a standard in their homes at Sunrise Springs. “This allows our homeowners an endless supply of hot water, but only when needed,” said Cherief. “At the end of the day it comes down us not only providing an environmentally conscious home, but one that our homeowners will live more comfortably in.”

Cherief went on to explain to Builder and Developer magazine that Ryland was extremely motivated to embrace the essence of what Summerly and the surrounding area has to offer. “Taking into consideration the importance of family and the love for the outdoors we went above and beyond to provide a home our homeowners would enjoy coming home to. We have managed to design a smaller, affordable home that features vaulted ceilings and open gathering areas near the kitchen and living room that flow seamlessly into outdoor living areas without compromising room count. Time and time again our homeowners are amazed by how large and open our floorplans feel regardless of their square footage,” she said.

Sunrise is a community that people are proud to call home and provides an excellent place to grow their families or simply enjoy retirement. Ultimately this will strengthen the surrounding close-knit community.

Because Ryland was actively selling homes in the Lake Elsinore, they were well aware of how enticing the surrounding area is, offering a wide varietyof amenities and activities. “As a team, we were extremely inspired to create an enclave of singlefamily homes where the dream of homeownership was obtainable,” added Cherief. “We wanted our buyers to enjoy the comfort of California living with desirable indoor and outdoor living spaces, ideal for entertaining friends and family,” she explained. In addition to this new community, Cherief noted that the Ryland team is extremely excited to open their second community with in the Summerly development at the beginning of 2015.
