Empire Continental Land Starts Development of Hutto Community
Austin, Texas – Empire Continental Land (ECL) has officially begun development of its largest master-planned community to date — the 835-acre Flora in Hutto, TX.
Located just south of Chandler Road off County Road 133, Flora will offer approximately 2,800 homes, with home sales expected to begin later this year.
“Hutto is in a period of dynamic growth for both businesses and residential communities,” says Steve Sellers, President of ECL. “Flora is only 30 minutes from downtown Austin, near Georgetown and Round Rock, and just minutes from the new Samsung Austin Semiconductor plant opening this year in nearby Taylor.”
Flora’s first phase will include more than 400 homesites and eight model homes providing a range of floor plan options and design choices that cater to residents’ diverse needs.
“The vision for Flora is centered around connectivity, both with neighbors and nature,” Sellers said. “A creek winds through the community and will be enhanced with native plantings and nature trails. Flora will also boast a generous array of amenities, creating an experience that’s a step above those offered in other nearby communities.”
Flora’s planned amenities include a Market Square for farmers markets and other gatherings, a welcome center, clubhouse, resort-style pool, fitness center, playground, splash pad, nature trails and more.
Students living at Flora will have the opportunity to enroll in schools within the Hutto Independent School District.
This is the second community developed by ECL in the Austin area, following the completion of Lakeside at Lake Georgetown. Flora is the newest addition to ECL’s extensive portfolio, which includes six established communities in the Houston area. More information is available at www.floratexas.com.
