Record Number of New House Construction Starts in Carlow in 2023
The record number of homes being made in Carlow, which is a 26% increase in the same period in 2022. Also, a huge difference from the March 2023 data earlier this year.
The Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage has published its monthly data on the number of commencement notices (residential construction starts) for September 2023. The data show in the first nine months of 2023 there have been commencement notices for 289 homes in Carlow, a 26% increase on the same period in 2022 (229 units).
This is a record when compared to similar periods since the data series began in 2015.
Nationally, the strong rise in commencements this year has continued and 23,923 homes have been commenced nationally in the first nine months of 2023. This is a 14.3% increase on the same period last year (20,919).
